NeptuneLabs FSI Showcase Add-on integrates a resizable scroll pane into
FSI Viewer displaying automatically generated thumbnails of multiple high
resolution images. Clicking a thumbnail displays the image in FSI Viewer
offering the possibility to explore the image in all its details. This way
hundreds of high resolution images can be easily presented to your web
visitors using only a single viewer instance. As FSI Showcase Add-on
automatically requests the required thumbnail images from single source
imaging servers, authoring a showcase is nothing more than listing up the
images you want to present with FSI Showcase.

The image lists can either be manually defined or requested from a
server. FSI Server has a built in support for image lists based
on an image directory or a database query.
FSI Showcase can also be used to point out different sections of a single
image by presenting these sections in the thumbnail bar. This allows creating
interactive product tours or highlighting single objects in bundle images.

FSI Showcase Add-on offers a wide range of parameters to customize the
layout and appearence of the add-on to perfectly match the design of your
website or custom
FSI Skin. Additionally you can add multi-line text
labels to thumbnails, specify hover and selected states and present
predefined image sections in the thumbnails.

Of course FSI Showcase has a built in support for virtual 3D presentations
allowing the presentation of 2D and 3D images in a single Showcase
instance. As FSI Showcase Add-on seamlessly integrates into FSI Viewer it
can be combined with all FSI Skins and Plug-ins available for FSI Viewer.

Most innovative viewers on the internet require special browser plug-ins
that the user is forced to download. This is why the penetration of most
of these viewers is comparably low. FSI Viewer on the other hand is based
on the most popular browser plug-in worldwide, the Adobe® Flash®
Player. In Europe, the US and Asia the penetration of the Flash® Player
exceeds 99% of all internet users (source: Adobe).
The default setup of the most popular browsers already contains the Flash® Player.
Integrating FSI Showcase into web pages is as easy as integrating a
standard Flash® program into a HTML page.
This is why FSI Showcase is compatible to almost every content management
system currently available. Additionally using databases and server-side
scripts to manage huge amounts of images with FSI Showcase is very easy.

The automatically generated thumbnail bar provides an overview and quick
access to each image presented inside a showcase. The self explaining user
interface with tool tips for each interface element enables even
inexperienced users to unfold the functionality of FSI Showcase within
seconds. The Showcase constantly reacts on user input and the progress bar
informs the user about the current progress of image loading.
Using the mouse directly inside the image the user can select an image
region to magnify, rotate or pan the image depending on the selected mouse
mode. The optional navigator window provides an overview and highlights the
image section currently viewed.

FSI Showcase and Dynamic Imaging Servers are highly scalable. This allows
using FSI Showcase with large amounts of images even in high load
environments, like in an online shop with thousands of images.

performance.
As FSI Showcase loads image thumbnails and configuration files dynamically
on demand, a single instance can easily display hundreds of high
resolution images.
